Directions
In this exercise, you will explore different aspects of diversity by filling out a tree diagram. The tree has two main sections:
Leaves (Top):
These represent aspects of diversity that are more obvious and visible to everyone.
Roots (Bottom):
These represent aspects of diversity that are less obvious and might be hidden or internal.
How to Complete the Exercise:
Start at the Top (Leaves):
You will see boxes on the leaves of the tree. Think about aspects of diversity that are visible and obvious to everyone (e.g., race, gender, age). Type your answers into the text box below the tree and click add or press enter to populate the tree. After taking a moment to reflect on why you put these in the leaves section, click continue. (All boxes must be filled in to continue.)
Move to the Bottom (Roots):
After filling out the leaves, move to the boxes on the roots of the tree by clicking continue. Consider aspects of diversity that are less visible or internal (e.g., religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status). Type your answers into the text box below the tree and click add or press enter to populate the tree. (All boxes must be filled in to continue.)
Compare Answers:
After filling out both the leaves and the roots, you can compare your answers with predefined answers provided by the course creator. Click the "Generate" button to switch between your answers and the predefined answers.
Restart the Exercise:
